Fusion III - International Contemporary Art/Show Exhibition

Fusion: a merging of diverse, distinct, or separate elements into a unified whole
That is certainly what curator JA Neto has accomplished early this month. His vision of bringing art, artists and audiences together in a single locale created a cocktail for success as Fusion III celebrated its third anniversary of The Cult House Collective.
Thirty-five new and emerging artists were selected to showcase their art in this international contemporary exhibition. In addition, there was a special project by Sebastian London and participation by Hola Sachi.
As you entered Candid Arts Trust on Thursday’s opening, you were greeted with smiling faces from artists eager and proud to exhibit their work. Each artist selected for Fusion III could choose up to three works of art to be exhibited for a period of five days.
Paul, artist behind The Finsbury Park Deltics is thrilled to be a part of exhibition: “I find it quite humbling to have fellow artists and people attending come up to me and ask me about my work. It’s always interesting to get another artist’s point of view. I had a great conversation with the artist whose work is hanging next to mine, about technique and what drives you on, and what point we’re trying to get across. […] We almost unwittingly drive each other on to be more and more creative. And that’s really nice to be around.”
Graphic illustrator Robert Hughes who was also selected selected for this year’s Fusion III said: “This is the second time I’ve had work up, so it’s all still very new to me. […] It’s nice to meet like-minded people. […] I was standing back there when I first came in, and seeing someone look at your work is a very nice feeling. All those hours you sit there, thinking and putting things together. A lot of the time it just lives on a computer screen, but to actually see other people viewing it as well is fantastic.”
The Cult House founder JA Neto is ecstatic: “Every year, we get better and better. I couldn’t be happier with the event. I’m looking forward to Fusion IV! We’re already in full preparation!”
What makes this event so special is not only the diversity of styles and techniques, but the opportunity for everyone to meet people from different walks of life and from various parts of the world: Spain, Venezuela, France, Brazil, Italy, Poland, and the UK to name a few.
Their unique vision allows visitors to travel to a place beyond the world they are familiar with, seeing things from a different perspective. As Henry David Thoreau said: “The world is but a canvas to our imagination”. If that be so, Fusion III certainly gives us “paint” for thought!
Looks like we’ve got a lot to look forward to when Fusion IV comes around!
