On April 10 2014, The Cult House website went live, and so this journey began with the revelation of how little I knew about the Art world. Nevertheless, the excitement of launching a new initiative that was to become a new hub for arts was greater than all the challenges that I could foresee.
Looking back on this, the fact I was so naive has really worked out in my favour. In fact, it kept me focused on my passion and the things I knew how to do better while learning the others. I soon realised that compromise was something I needed to embrace rather than fight against to move forward after the initial investment had being withdraw for reasons that are now in a far past.
There were many events in our first years to impact The Cult House members, as well as the free initial promotional exposure we still have today, also providing an enhanced service that comes with the 'full' membership package. Regardless of membership status, we guided and provided artists with the opportunities to improve their social media presence, independently of their career's levels.
In 2017, we had launched our TCHPeriodic, an online periodical providing news, fun reads, reviews, and artist interviews from a global perspective. This gave me the opportunity to talk with artists worldwide and discuss with them their lives and their Art, which I subsequently shared with The Cult House audience. Inspiring life stories and anecdotes that other artists can relate to, and perhaps smile at, as they realise the similarities between them and feel a sense of camaraderie. Those are the so-called "little things" that make us strong to continue doing more, event after event, despite any difficulties.
The periodical highlighted the events, collaborations, and partnerships, which in turn provided those that could not attend these events with a unique insight, as if they had been there.
Some say that there is a 7-year cycle for everything! So, here I am, reminiscing, not with a sense of nostalgia, but with a real sense of achievement. As we enter the second year of the COVID19 pandemic, I realise how the World has changed, forcing us, like many other small and big businesses, to cancel or postpone projects and to refocus our attention on how to adapt and respond to the challenges facing us as we move on.
At present and in the coming future, things might still be challenging for many small businesses. However, we must not forget that we all have each other during uncertain times and that we saw a lot of good actions, initiatives, and the sacrifices of so many that allowed us to be here today and, hopefully, together soon.
I am pausing a moment to reflect on The Cult House's achievements and recognise that we are still here also; we all survived somehow, economically, and physically. We will continue marking better. This 7th anniversary is indeed a new beginning, and I want to thank you all who were part of it so far and let you know that we will be here for you.
So, feel free to drop us a message! To join our online collective gallery! To share your stories and events with us! We will be very happy to share them.
Stay safe. We shall meet again soon.
