My principle interests are strength/vulnerability, chaos/heart and order/mind and the spaces in-between; I like to look at subject matter from different representational viewpoints, addicted to seeking out new ways to see things.
Subject matter is approached through a prism of ideas, to celebrate the joy of looking as a way to anaesthetise the senses in a world of conflicting existences.
We all need an escape route for the mind, this doesn’t mean we don’t experience living without acknowledging the reality of pain.
Since my childhood I’ve been beguiled by the glinting allure of the Mirrorball, those fleeting reflected light beams, hedonistic dance floor enablers, shining across the faces of party revellers.
My latest work is a growing collection of Disco balls exploring all those clubbing moods, Ibiza brights, dizzying lights or dark and dirty lost weekend vibes captured through my love of beautiful representation.
There’s something really mesmerising about those tiny squares of glass that suits my interest in multiple subjectivity, the notion that any given topic can be approached by an often-contradictory set of viewpoints.
