My paintings document time and discovery in the company of Indian Classical music.
When a nation’s indigenous, spiritual scholarship finds melodic structure that creates classical music, it reflects how evolved and sophisticated it is. As the layman in the audience, I have availed of musicians and maestros who keep the sanctity of traditional melody and bring us ancient resonance.
I listen and paint. The expression of the singer is the start -place of every painting.
It creates a portal and the music, a landscape, where my thoughts find form and pattern.
My collection of paintings is about the impact Indian classical music, especially Dhrupad-Dagarbani carries.
I hope that my works reflects the wider context of my parent nation’s glorious identity that I exist within and speak from.
