Peter D'Alessandri
Born 1963, studied at Norwich School of Art. Spent most of his adult life living an ordinary life in the real world. Did not much care for it.
Returned to painting tentatively in 2005, and now paints full time from a studio in London.
Shows work regularly in London, has won prizes, and has work in collections worldwide.
The representation and description of people is the main focus of his work.
People he knows, or people he pays to pose.
Sometimes placed within a narrative, or at other times stripped of any vestige of a narrative.
All the time he is fascinated by their sense of identity, and the dynamic relationship between subject, artist and viewer.
