Frances Featherstone is a contemporary Fine Artist working primarily in oils from her studio in East Sussex near Tunbridge Wells. She has a BA (Hons) Degree (1st Class) in Fine Art from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
‘What I have always been fascinated by are the interweaving journeys that we are on as ordinary people in the modern world. And in my paintings, I try to capture the vibrancy of the urban landscape and at the same time the narratives of the individuals moving within them.’
She regularly exhibits in London including this year at The Mall Galleries, The Affordable Art Fair and Olympia.
She was ‘Artist and Illustrators’ magazine shortlisted Artists of the Year 2019. In Jackson’s Open Art Prize 2019 two of her paintings were longlisted out of an incredible 5366 entries. Her painting was ‘Highly Commended’ in TALP 2109 Art Competition in ‘The Artist’ category organised by The Artist and Leisure Painter Magazine. She was shortlisted as one of Jackson’s Emerging Artists 2018. She was an Art Gemini Prize finalist in 2017.
