Evi was born in London and spent her adolescent years enveloped by an urban landscape. She dreamt of the countryside and found solace, immersing herself in the images of natural history books. This lead to her studying scientific and natural history illustration and she graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in 1992.
She then worked for many years as a natural history illustrator on publications, using traditional watercolour techniques. It was also at this time that her dream of living in the countryside was realised and the move cemented her love and art of natural history.
While raising her two children, Evi had the opportunity to transition into fine art, embracing digital painting techniques. This enabled her to work on a much larger scale resulting in magnified images of her subject matter. With an obsessive eye for detail and composition, the symmetrical forms, colours and textures of the natural world, are endless inspiration for her work. With a change in family commitments Evi moved back to London in 2017, and her work evolved. Heavily influenced and inspired by East London street art, her new work absorbs and reflects her surroundings.
Her work has been exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and she was a prize winner with NOA and runner up of the Secret Art Prize 2018.
Winner of It's Art Call 2019
