David Hicks
Art journalism meets social comment.
David Hicks has travelled to about 100 countries to date, and in some ways, he sees himself as helping to record and interpret ordinary life on our planet at this point in time.
Interestingly he prints on different substrates. He gets quite bored of the predictable black frame (sometimes silver) with white mount. It’s been done loads. So, he makes things more difficult for himself and either buys old windows etc and up cycles them, or buys new tables etc and prints on them, with the appropriate images of course!
