'... language is a universal form of communication, whereas painting is not so universally understood.
When included within a painted composition, language provides an anchor point of understanding which stimulates the viewer’s imagination, especially when coupled with an image as powerful as the moon. There are very few objects we encounter or see with such familiarity as we do this white and glowing spectacle.
Imagination is the key tool which elevates the subject beyond mere representation and into the mind of the spectator.' Text produced for School of Light exhibition.
I work in a shared studio in south Bermondsey and am currently preparing for two exhibitions over the summer, one in Wales and one in London. for my eight images I have made a selection from the paintings produced over the last two years. Although painting is my main focus recently I curated an exhibition for Ugly Duck gallery called 'Standby' which welcomed 20 national and international artists to exhibit in central London for a month. My desire to curate and exhibit un established and young artists is underpinned by a project called ThinkTank. More details can be found at the end of this application.
I am a hardworking and dedicated young artist looking for more opportunities to meet likeminded individuals and to showcase my work.
