I am a multidisciplinary /Inter disciplinary artist working with dance, poetry, and visual arts from Bangalore, India, currently living in London on an exceptional talent endorsement by Arts Council England.
My work revels in a space between poetry and politics. I fish for psychological and personal narratives which are depicted in an organic, disjointed manner. Since personal narratives are responses to the world around, the world within and the conflict between them; these works often hint at social, political, and sexual commentaries though not necessarily seeking or offering an answer. The characters aim to stretch the boundaries and perceptions of identity.
My focus of research and practice in terms of medium is rooted in developing a unified personal language assimilating the elements of Visual art, poetry, performance. My works encompass paintings, drawings, and mixed media installation. This disparate nature of the language used inferences the disjointed narratives being told, the politics of materiality, and the unconscious symbolism and meanings that subsequently emerge.
The human body usually becomes the subject and/or the object, hinting at notions of identity and performance, while also becoming metaphors for metaphysical landscapes and narratives.
